Climatological Controls
Some of the daily or historical charts and graphs support climatological data visualization. With this support it is possible to compare data among months, seasons or years, or to compare a specific period to the mean of the same period over years.
These charts and graphs are available in the “climatological data” tab of the station view.
They work in the same way as their daily or historical versions, nevertheless, you may meet the following specificities:
- Period type: in addition to the “classic” types of periods, you may find “aggregated months”, “aggregated seasons” or “aggregated years”. This usually means a daily average of the value, distributed over the selected period. The period type “rotating year”, meanwhile, tells the chart to display cyclically all the available years.
- Computation: the calculation to be performed when the query is executed. This calculation may vary depending on the type of selected measurement.
- Condition: a simple logic condition to evaluate before allowing the value to be taken into account in the defined computation.
- Thresholds (1 and 2): the variable thresholds to apply to the above condition.
The queries run by climatological data controls can be very intense for your database. I recommend using these controls only if you have enabled the relevant cache.
