Hello everyone!

Finally, I'm able to show you one of my clients pages recently made public: https://wetter.seiersberg-pirka.gv.at/

Besides visualizing weather information using Pierre's wonderful plugin, it utilizes live footage from site, timelapse videos and historical data. It's not 100% finished and some parts (especially for climatological data and an alarm/warning system) are still under construction. The clients requirement was to focus on information and clarity rather than design.

If you like/dislike something, find something interesting or if there is something else you want to say, any feedback is welcome ????

Chris

P.S.: Sorry about the page being in German only.

I like the cold weather. It means you get work done.

Hey Chris,

That is one beautiful weather-website! You made optimal use of  WeatherStation. I think Pierre will be proud. ????  So much info. Very, very nice!

I think i'm gonna "steal" your implementation of the heat maps ???? , with max/min/average in separate tabs...

Wow Chris! That's just amazing. ????

I understand it's for something like a Region or community of municipalities... What is it exactly?

The design is very clear and you take advantage of many aspect and features of the plugin. Like @gerhard said, I'm very proud to help a little to do something like that. It makes me really happy!

Thank you for your trust and everything you bring to Weather Station... ????

If you like Weather Station, please consider to make a review to help make it known. That would be the best way to thank me...

Thank you Chris for creating such a superb and complete site that illustrates in a beautiful manner so many of the capabilities of Pierre’s excellent Weather Station plugin. The visualizations are very well thought out, organized beautifully. I believe this is one of the best weather sites that I have seen. The live streaming cameras are great too. I really enjoyed looking at all the information – Thank you! I can’t wait to see what you develop next :).

Best Regards,

Hello @pierre-lannoy and @kclifton,

thank you for your kind words, makes me really happy ???? Yes Pierre, you're absolutely right, it's a community weather project currently consisting of two stations. Unfortunately, only one of those stations is public at the moment. But with more stations to come, more data will be available. The data are used in many ways. It helps clearing the roads in winter and avoiding black ice by sending alarms to responsible staff. Further, it helps managing drinking water supply after heavy rainfall and the webcam you see points towards a very small "ski resort" informing primarily young skiers about the current conditions. And besides that it helps studying microclimate effects and understanding local weather phenomena.

@kclifton Currently we're testing the alarming system, so a lot of work is done under the hood. But in the near future the section for historical data will be enhanced. And there will be some instrumentation for air quality. I'll keep you posted.

Hi everyone,

I just added a page on climatological data from 2019. Here's the direct link: https://wetter.seiersberg-pirka.gv.at/historie-2019/

Hoping that you find it interesting and useful,

Chris

Hi Chris, may i ask how you made the min/max values to appear as shaded area on the gauge instead of the cursers? I only can select "Curser" / "Zeiger"

Viele Grüße aus Freising 🙂

Hi @hilman2,

I think, you are referring to the homepage gauges. Unfortunately these were not generated using the Weather Station plugin, because they have to show the current conditions in realtime (and by realtime I really mean realtime with a delay of only seconds). Therefore they were implemented manually using JS and some HTML. I can point you towards this repository for further information.

Also, I just checked and can confirm, that this is not natively possible using Weather Station. But since the gauges I created and the gauges used by Weather Station have the same origin, maybe implementation of your request is not too difficult. I suggest you post a new feature request in the Ideas and Suggestions section.

Beste Grüße zurück aus Graz,

Chris
