Let me introduce my weather-website:  https://weeropdeveluwe.nl . I'd love to hear what you think. Please also let me know if you feel I can improve it somehow!

some info:

Wordpress, Customify theme and... yes, Weather Station  😎 is installed.

The weather station is a Davis VP2+, so with the UV and solar sensors, and an extra temperature station for measuring grass temp at 10cm. The Davis-data is being collected by a Meteobridge Pro, and the meteobridge connects the weather station to the internet. The Meteobridge outputs a Clientraw.txt and a Realtime.txt file. These are both collected by Weather Station. I need both, because these files each have some measurements the other hasn't.

Since last summer I added a sunshine duration sensor to the station. This is connected to the Davis via an extra rain station. Pierre was kind enough to add the sunshine duration sensor to Weather Station. On my website you see the sunshine reported as "Zonuren" or "Uren zon". Sorry, it's in Dutch 😉

Questions, remarks, ideas, errors; I'd love to hear from other Weather Station users!

Hi Gerhard,

that's a nice and cleary structured page. Something I noticed though is a 404 error when hitting "Maps" in your main menu...url seems to be wrong, just that you know 🙂

Chris

I like the cold weather. It means you get work done.

Hello.

I already knew your site, Gerhard, but I must admit that it is always so pleasing to the eye ...

My only question is about the Maand menu: how are you going to do in a few years?  😀

And for the maps error, I saw it too. Unfortunately I think it's not on your side. I think European Weathernetwork did not think about CORS issues...  🤣  But it's not blocking for now...

As you seems to like maps, I think you will not be disappointed by Weather Station 3.7 😉

If you like Weather Station, please consider to make a review to help make it known. That would be the best way to thank me...

Hi Gerhard,

I was able to get to your site a month or so ago, but not now. Missing the great ideas for using the plugin.

Hi Bob, @bobeckman,

I think my website is online as usual. sure you've got the right link? https://weeropdeveluwe.nl . I'm glad you liked my implementation of Pierre's great plugin!

Will you "showcase" your site here? Love to see the results of your work!

Gerhard

As I was searching for an alternative for the WD live Flash page I discovered the Weather Station plugin.
Can you share me your settings for WP, as I'm dutch also, and want to migrate to a page according to yours.

I really love the clean layout.

Erwin

Hi Erwin,

I'm not answering in Dutch, because it is an international forum, hope that's okay for you. I'm glad you like the way I use the Weather Station plugin on my website! I think you will make a big improvement from the WD-Live software. No Flash needed, and far more flexible!

I set up a regular Wordpress page, and installed a simple free theme called "Customify". Plugins I use: Weather Station (of course;-) and Pagebuilder by SiteOrigin. This plugin helps to divide a page into columns, but isn't necessary, in the latest Wordpress editor you can make columns as well.

Do you have a Wordpress site already? That and Weather Station is the starting point!

No problem, English is fine for me 🙂

For now I have the following (already for several years now) :

  • WMR200 with extra ground temp & UV sensor
  • Meteohub on Raspberry Pi with RFXCom 433Mhz receiver for receiving the sensor info, and pushing it to my site and several Weather-sites.

This can be seen here : https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IBREE7

I'm testing now on :  https://fiten.eu/?page_id=9

I would like to have the source of a decent page to start with.

I don't think it is possible to simply "copy" my website. All shortcodes are different, but also for "copying" a wordpress site you need the whole database as well. But what's more; it is very easy to do. You have got a Wordpress site and Weather Station setup already. After that it is simply adding a page- and menu structure and copy-pasting the right shortcodes. The colours of textual codes can easily be changed in the editor. The design properties of graphs are set when generating the right shortcode. You can even create your own colour scheme in Weather Station. This helps a lot in getting a website that looks great. Another advantage of doing it yourself is that when you are done you know exactly how it was done 😉

I hope you have some time to spare during Christmas season!

Have a good one!

Gerhard

ps. Please share your website when it is done at the "Showcase" in community support?
