[This post is marked as unsolved] Firefox reverted to font Times New Roman in LCD

Interestingly, the LCD Display presented properly in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari last night. Today, the font appears as Times New Roman in Firefox and Chrome—not too common in LCDs I think...Safari still renders the text properly, however.

I'm not too concerned, but I am curious. Reasons? Fixes?

Thanks all! Have I said yet that I LOVE Weather Station?

Very best regards—

Hi Jason!

You have a CORS error on your site, as shown below:

As you can see, the browser on a non www url try to use a font from a www url. And the error is not present, obviously, if you try to load  http://www.greylockglass.com/  in your browser...

For a reason I ignore you seems to have a misconfiguration between www and non-www url AND (on some other pages of your site) between https and http urls. This misconfiguration may be in WP itself, and/or in your htaccess file (providing you're not actually using some sort of CDN or cache, which may be a third cause).

You must resolve this confusion in url and internal redirections to avoid font errors on your site - and to avoid some other errors which can be found on your site (mixed content, etc.).

If it can help you, know there 2 generic rules for this case:

  1. don't let users access your site from 2 urls: choose between www and non-www and configure redirections accordingly;
  2. don't mix content: if your site has a certificate for https, configure redirection to redirects users to https version when they try to access http version...

Hope this helps!

If you like Weather Station, please consider to make a review to help make it known. That would be the best way to thank me...

Ah HA! I have a feeling that your solution will extend beyond just the Weather Station. I have corrected both the https issue and the www issue, and all is well. Thank you again, Pierre!
